Seven UK ad agencies are hoping to win awards at Cannes in the Branded Content and Entertainment category, after the shortlist was announced this morning.
R/GA London has been shortlisted twice for Beats by [Dr] Dre’s “the game before the game”.
Other shortlisted entries include: Adam & Eve DDB’s Christmas campaign for John Lewis (“Monty’s Christmas”); AQKA’s “house of mamba” work for Nike Basketball; Grey London’s “The Times unquiet – film series” for News UK.
Also in the running is Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R’s “every man remembered” for the Royal British Legion; TBWA\London’s “Adidas Predator instinct: the game” for Adidas; and AMV BBDO’s “unbelievable campaign” for Pepsi Max.
The UK has eight entries in total. This year’s short list is dominated by the US, which boasts nearly a third of the total number (46 out of 143). Germany has the second most number of entries with 12, while Brazil has 11.
The winners for Branded Content and Entertainment are due to be announced tomorrow night (27 June); on the final evening of the International Festival of Creativity.
