Winning two Gold Lions with its all-Lego ad break for the Lego Movie has contributed to an “outstanding” week at Cannes for PHD’s global chief executive Mike Cooper.

In this exclusive video, he describes the feeling of receiving the awards in the media category, as well as the feedback on the network’s seminar with futurist Jason Silva.

Watch: British Airways work is “future of billboard advertising”, says O&M creative

For innovation, the British Airways “magic of flying” work is the “future of billboard advertising”, according to Ogilvy & Mather’s global chief creative officer Tham Khai Meng.

Speaking exclusively to Campaign during the Cannes Lions festival, he explained that while “I’ve not seen some categories do too well”, the “ability to measure yourself against the competition” is a useful element of the event.

Exclusive: Samsung no longer seeking a holding company in global pitch

Samsung has announced a change of strategy in its ongoing global pitch and is no longer looking for a single holding company to handle all of its marketing. According to sources here at Cannes, Samsung is now looking for ‘best-in-class’ agencies in every category.

Cannes Lions: Edelman was not the first PR Grand Prix winner

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity released a statement on Wednesday morning clarifying that FleishmanHillard was the first PR agency to win a Grand Prix when it was recognized in 2010.

“From a historical perspective, the first time a PR agency was named among the winners for the PR Grand Prix was in 2010, when FleishmanHillard partnered with TBWA/Chiat/Day Los Angeles on Gatorade’s Replay campaign,” the statement said.
